With the Kindle app on iPad, how do you go from sample to full edition? I thought I was getting the full book, but can't seem to get more than the sample.

I used to use Nike+iPod and listen to ChinesePod on the run (literally) but that seems to have gotten messed up too. Maybe putting the playlist entries in "music" genre will help. I just changed all of the entries in my most recently created playlist from "podcast" to music and overwrote the existing playlist on my iPhone (which iTunes kept telling me was there but I could not see under "music" on the phone. That did the trick as far as getting it to show up under the music icon. Now maybe the Nike software will recognize it as a valid playlist of music. I don't think it occurred to them that people would listen to podcasts while running.

Yeah, the definition of the upgraded software always says it is going to do something wonderful. They never say things like "this will screw up your entire archive of painstakingly curated content." You are probably wise not to upgrade unless there is some compelling reason to do so. iOS 7 has certainly not made my life much better, but its going to be a must as more and more apps stop becoming backward-compatible. Not an issue with my iTouch as it is so old it can't be upgraded anyway.

You are welcome, but I did not realize that this would solve another problem as well. Just this week I made a new playlist but could not get it to appear and play properly on my iPhone. So changing the "media kind" from "podcast" to "music" or "audiobook" solves this problem too, in addition to allowing you to see the text? I am a happy denizen of the Apple ecosystem, but have to say I have always found iTunes to be incredibly user UN-friendly.

I have been having similar problems recently: clicking the arrows in the dialog section fails to play the audio. The CPod site seems to be experiencing some intermittent latency problems overall. I did check the grammar section just now and all of the audio clips played for me. You might just have to wait and come back later.

Well, to quote Jenny (telling users who didn't like the new recurring billing on their credit card system to get over it) who cited another saying: 习惯成自然.

Don't know if that's classical. Hope I look smart using it, and not 画虎不成反类狗. 哈哈。

I totally agree that the CPod academic team is great, and unsurpassed at what they do. If you are a case of "the student surpasses the teacher" in this instance they should be proud of you. 希望你不感觉你是教猪吹笛子。

Wow, that's amazing. You are a iTunes wizard! I would never have figured that out on my own. I assume that:

1. You have to do this file by file

2. You would have to then move the file to your iPhone

3. You cannot set it up so that the podcasts get converted automatically in the feed.

Is that right? I think I misinformed somebody in another post somewhere that lyrics simply were not available. Sorry about that, whoever you are.

The current version of CPod's iOS app is working reasonably well these days, but it may just be a matter of time before an "upgrade" causes issues to resurface again. It's comforting to know that one can access one's own paid-for content without relying on a single software platform.

RJ,

Yeah, lots of "culture" happening here for sure. I feel a rant coming on, but will stifle it for now. Let's see what happens next. At least the academic team is responsive.

If you are interested in Chinese poetry you may enjoy the "Poems with Pete" lessons on ChinesePod.

Parks in China have areas where small stones are embedded in concrete so the masochistic can go unshod over the path and get their daily dose that way. Maybe you could put some marbles in your shoes and get a similar effect.
