A very good point, and this is where CPod hosts could add some more value. (John would often spell out the pinyin.) So if, for example, one of the hosts said "that's h-u-i, first tone, c-h-e-n, second tone" we would all get a gentle reminder of how to pronounce it correctly. A good use for "spoken pinyin."

I should have qualified my answer by saying I think I am in the minority of Skritter users that likes to use both a peripheral tablet with a PC for the web version and the iOS version on an iPhone. gardensongkl could save a good bit of money by using only an already owned iPhone for Skritter, and a lot of users did migrate to the iOS environment and never looked back. However, the iOS app lacks a number of features that I still find useful, such as an option for tone colors and studying individual list sections.

Yes, you should get a Wacom tablet for your computer (the stylus specific to tablet use will be included) and yes, a capacitive touchscreen stylus will work on your iPhone after you download the Skritter app. The latter will cost $10 ~ 20 dollars and you can find it at any office supply store. Caveat emptor: I use a PC and not a Mac, though I doubt that matters. Tablets and the Mac are much used by artists so I think the Mac will be well supported by Wacom.

David, 你的理解对了。 虽然卖保险公司称呼 Underwriter (保障一份保险) , 可是 Investment Bank 作 underwriting 的时候就跟你说明的功能差不多。

Matt, According to the Skritter website: (http://www.skritter.com/faq#iphone)

"The Android app is available for download via the Google Play store. "

Actually when you append 家 to some nouns it becomes "one who does." For example, writer is 作家, a thinker is 思想家,etc., so the literal meaning of 梦想家 is a dreamer or a visionary. To say the house of your dreams you would probably say something like 梦想中的房子 or to use a different word altogether 理想的房屋。

Also, you may see "The Chinese Dream" : 中国梦 in popular media these days.

Quite surprising that nobody has mentioned Skritter yet:

If you are already a Chinese Pod user AND want to learn how to write characters, this is the best software for the job by far.

re: "as good as chinesepod . . ." that's a high standard, but I hope you find it useful.

FYI, there was a facebook page in Korean for CPod: " ChinesePod 한국어판 ", in case you or your wife want to read about CPod content and discussion in Korean.
