那算了!Forget it then!

为什么你不想去?Why don't you want to go?

你昨天晚上在HDNet 看了《The Graduate》的电影吗?

Did you watch the movie The Graduate on HDNet yesterday evening?

I think a lot of work is already involved in producing the five or more new lessons podcasts each week. So I wouldn't mind Cpod scrapping the News and Features so as to expend more productive work elsewhere. Announcing the upcoming lessons for the week has little value for me... whatever they are, I'll be visiting the lessons. Of course, when there are real new news or features or events, these can be announced in the occasional News and Features podcast. Other than that, the time and effort spent on a weekly N&F can be better used elsewhere. Just my opinion, of course.

RJ,

Some time ago, I did suggest that a lesson comes out same day each week so that we can plan our time, however Matt said poddies love surprises.

@John, note the Latest News in the Me page has been showing the starter kit promotion ends JULY 31st. Doesn't matter for me when the promotion ends, just want you to know the page says end of July.

这个课太棒了,也及时的,能帮我更好地了解我的少林功夫老师说得什么。当教我们八段锦,他主要用普通话因为他的英语不够高可以描述身体的动作。比如用中文怎么说:"Raise right hand straight up to heaven, fingers and palm facing upward 90 degrees to wrist, look up, lower left hand to earth, breathing out and stretching."

mikeinewshot 多谢!

Most difficult pinyin consonant to pronounce is 'r'. Even though Chinese dictionaries say pinyin r is pronounced similar to English r, it is not in various characters.

For example  热 re4 and 日ri4 ......the r is pronounced differently in the pinyin chart The r in 热 has zzzzz (like in zebra) while the r in 日 is almost silent.

Pete,

哈哈 you're a riot, and riding the shark are ya? Except that it's a dolphin. Check out Strategy of the Dophin..Scoring A Win In A Chaotic World ...easy night time reading (unlike poems) to strive for state of business Nirvana。

btw, when blogging, do complain on my behalf them calling McMahon a second banana...very demeaning and sexist, doesn't matter if he's paid $5 mill/year... he is a true buddy, not a ph symbol.

You're cool Pete and very helpful to poddies, so they all like you. 'Cept you make me want to cry out loud when you get a stranger female server to call me buddy.

Didn't have time this morning to elaborate on calling a woman a bitch. Not a bad term at all as some may think. RJ mentioned Randy who calls guys 'dawg' (hip hop lingo.. but of course you'd know, you're cool Pete from the Pearl Tower), which reminded me of 'bitch', the opposite of dawg.

"The word bitch is sometimes used casually among hip-hop artists and followers of the culture. The term is typically used to describe a young female regardless of personality or looks. As in the culture the term "dawg" is used for males it is sometimes said as a type positive way as "bitch" is the female term."

"In more recent usage in the context of feminism, it has varied reappropriated meanings that may connote a strong female (anti-stereotype of weak submissive woman), cunning (equal to males in mental guile), or else it may be used as a tongue-in cheek backhanded compliment for someone who has excelled in an achievement. Since the 1980s, the term "bitch" has become increasingly accepted and less offensive. After the word was widely used between rivals Krystle and Alexis on the nighttime soap-opera TV series Dynasty, it gained usage, in malicious contexts or otherwise, and is now very rarely censored on television broadcasts

And here's chorus of "Bitch" sung and composed by Meredit Brooks, the millions of men dream woman...

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover
I'm a child, I'm a mother
I'm a sinner, I'm a saint
I do not feel ashamed
I'm your health, I'm your dream
I'm nothing in between
You know you wouldn't want it any other way

Pete,

I'm simply taking about context of language and not inferring of any class status. Randy Jackson, as you know, is very rich. So are lots of cool famous people and they use the term bitch quite freely on their also rich girlfriends. Sorry, you took it the wrong way and no, I don't live in my parent's house 哈哈!

Nowadays, to be really hip and cool, just call your girl friend a "bitch" . You're on a pedestal when she loves being your bitch. An if not, "cruise the trailer park" for one. As Randy would say it "hey dawg, check it out bud!"

@bodawei

Lots of mum and pop eateries here in Canada also call patrons luv and hun... mostly by elder  waitresses. Young waiters and waitresses usually just say "Hi, can I take your order." Unless I ride up in a Harley wearing a Hell's Angels leather jacket, no waitress will ask me "buddy, wanna order?"
