Once in Guyana I was at a store that the owners lived behind... there was also a strange little zoo in back, not really part of the story. I asked the owner if I could use their bathroom. They gave me a strange look, but also gave me directions. I followed the directions and found... the shower. There was no toilet in this "room." (There was really no "room" either.) So I went back and asked for the toilet and was sent in an entirely different direction. My question is, why did they give me directions to their shower? Why didn't they say, "No strange lady, you cannot take a shower at my house." Maybe they just wanted to see what I would do. Regardless I was very happy to have found the correct 间 before my hour long very bumpy bus ride home.

I would call that an aseptic container, or a box. Eg. "Do you want a box of juice?" "Yes, aseptic containers are recyclable."

Well, since plastic bottles also release chemicals into the water (and if bottled water is just purified tap water then it also has the chemicals you would have in boiled tap water,) you can't win for losing. I figure, do my best to be sensible and don't worry about it. Stress is a pretty big health risk factor, too.
