Looking back at the beginning of the show: Pete you blew us and all the doubts away with your high quality, high pace, and high information density. It was a pleasure to listen to the poems, the backgrounds, the interpretations, and the discussion.

The hunt for familiar characters made it a pleasure for me, although I will come back to the show at my next level of chinese.

Wenns am schoensten ist, soll man aufhoeren. Good, that you follow this German saying maybe without even knowing it. ;-)

And last but not least, I'm looking forward to your next show (whatever it may be about ;-) ), hopefully not always on the overloaded tuesday ;-)

one famous, non-wordplay chinese joke goes as follows:

a young man lives above an old fellow. this young guy has the habit of coming home late tossing his shoes around which basically wakes up the old fellow. So, one day, the old guy decides to speak up to the young guy, who shows understanding.

The very next night, he returns home, tosses one shoe and remembers his promise. so he takes off the second shoe quitely.

Next morning, he meets the old fellow - he is terribly tired and says: "Man, because of you, I could not sleep the whole night!" “But," says the young guy "I made half the noise this night!"

"Yes, and waiting for the sound of the second shoe kept me awake!"

jenny, johns: Actually, all the songs cpod has displayed so far are really relevant from a cultural point of view.

E.g. 学习雷锋好榜样（xue2xi2 lei2 feng1, hao bang3 yang4 / learn from Lei Feng, the role model) for example re-occurs in my private live quite regular. I simply find good opportunities to use this phrase.

the problem about songs in Chinese is, that you will not learn the tones (which is the reason why Chinese often don't understand what is sung until they see the lyrics with it, which leads directly to the success of karaoke, I assume), so although I agree that we should learn here the classical Chinese songs sung at special occasions, but preferably not put every content in a song ;-)

it was terrible for me too in the beginning.

But i kinda figured out (not mastered, though)

dunderklumpens analysis triggers me to give my oppinion.

pinyin -> "english"

s -> s as in "saturday"
c -> ts as in "hats"
z -> ds as in "wizzards"

sh -> sh as in "shoe"
ch -> tsh as in "wet shoe" (pronounce it and remove the we) 
zh -> dsh as in "bed shoe" (pronounce it and remove the be)

and yeah, the chinese "t" is a bit forced, but doable.

I just had a discussion with the customer support, that a praxis pass does not qualify for any premium subscription. otherwise I would certainly be very interested in extending my subscription.
