Memo (我老板的名字), 我今天起床起得很晚, 没有听到闹钟的声音. 我可不可以九点上班? (我平时是7点钟上班的)
老板: 没问题, 今天你只要加两个小时的班...

块(kuai4) is mainly used in spoken language, while
元(yuan2) is kind of more formal and often used in written language. Anyway you can also use it in your 口语(kou3yu3)
