June 8, 2011 at 2:15 PMYes the date is not under question to me.
I followed bababardwan on the very second comment
This also matches because in this way we have time and place on both sides of the ":"

June 8, 2011 at 1:03 PMThanks!
I Totally agree about the dramatic effect.
If it is right, I would say we nailed it.
Your comment on the traditional form of 阳, and John's comment of 朝 (zhao)=morning on the lesson, supported my reasoning about the timing.
Bodawei's 坐南朝北 reminded me about the sunrise.
The 东门 idea was supported on Babyeggplant's comment on 区 (below)
Let's wait for more ideas.

Yes that made me hesitate at the beginning too. But then I thought maybe its just that the place is far and they want to have enough time to prepare the ambush... hehehe

I agree with you about the 区。 Although I think is in the East gate as explained above.
Why do you think is at the western part?

June 8, 2011 at 12:26 PMHi guys!
at the beginning I was considering that there might be clues about the time on both sides of the ":" And since in the dialogue they say at night I was confused. But if we think that they refer to the night as somewhere between midnight and 6:00 am. So, the 五木 leads us to 5:18 am (木 is written with a 十 and a 八。
In the dialogue they also mention that it is in the 森林公园,but where in there? the right part of the messages says 朝阳区, and as you have mentioned before 朝阳 could be "facing the sun" (which also supports the 5:18am time because is closer to the sunrise. Well not here in Harbin which is close to 3:00 in summer), and where does the sun rises from? That would be the east. Usually the gates of a place like a park are marked as 东西南北。So the meeting place could be the East gate of the Senlin Park.
In summary:
ps. I am still wondering if I missed the meaning of 区。But lets say it is also a clue for the east gate. Since the only way to go in the "box" is from the right of the character.
