We don't think he should tone it down. We LOL every time we listen to the lesson.

Just to add some more agreement. John and Jenny, seeing your gestures and watching you speak helps a lot. Maybe that's why I'm so uncomfortable about talking on the phone (in Chinese AND English)--because it is harder to understand without the faces.

The English medical term for a sound made by the gut is "borborygmus." Its origin was onomatopoeic.

BTW, we old-people-who-love-Chinesepod use our 护照(passports) as 老人证,in China, and it works.  Actually we have a picture of our passport photo page on our camera and just show that.  优惠 and even 免费 。  It's not the money but the delight of getting special treatment.

上海PODDIES 一定要参观上海玻璃博物馆 http://en.shmog.org/ 有

玻璃历史,玻璃雕塑,玻璃科技, 也有吹玻璃的表演。了不起。

Shanghai Poddies should see the Shanghai Glass Museum. Glass history,

glass sculptures, glass science and technology, even a glass blowing demonstration. Just terrific.

BTW, Jenny said it right, but it didn't get written correctly.  罗彬's English name is Robin, not Robert.  Robin= 罗(luo2) 彬(bin1).

你去过中国吗?有没有中国朋友? 欢迎你来Smith College 的中文桌子吃午饭。

每个星期三在Duckett宿舍。看看5-大学的地图。下个学期希望见到你。

Wande,

We agree about Jenny Zhu. We think of her as a kind of rock star and we are so awed that she treats us as if we are the honored ones.

As for us being sweet (jenny.ca), or endearing (afroboy_99), well, again it is thanks to Jenny that we seem to be that way instead of goofy, tongue-tied 老外。

Chenwenling, you are practically a neighbor in South Hadley. Do you sit in on Chinese classes at Mt. Holyoke College?

There is research that both sides of the brain are used more for Mandarin speakers, so if we had a stroke on either side, our Chinese might suffer. (Just in case you think the both-sides are because of the pictoral aspect of Chinese, the same is true for Polish speakers. In fact the brain sided-ness has been over-emphasized, and many people do not have such distinct sided-ness.

But your other reasons are great--songs, movies, history, stories, poetry, We agree (if only we COULD sing.)

Marc, the chocolate we bring to Chinese Pod every year IS from Belgium (比利时). --罗彬 甄玫
