I just saw this lesson for the first time today. Yes, some people are late to the party. Sorry I missed out on the exciting controversy.

Anyway, I wanted to report that the html file of the transcript is empty. Using this link:

The file exists, and even has the title of the lesson at the top, but no content. I actually rely on the plain text versions, as I like to read in Pleco to help studying at the same time. And for some reason copy/paste out of Acrobat garbles the Chinese. Can you please fix? Thanks.

The link in this lesson's pdf to the text/html version (bottom of each page in pdf) does not work. I assume it's not just my problem, because the link works for me in the other lessons. This is a critical feature for me. Can it please be fixed? Thanks.

As an aside/background: when I select and copy from Acrobat, the Chinese doesn't get copied correctly, but when copying from the html it works correctly. I just want a simple plain text file to put on my phone, specifically using Pleco reader, which means I need the lesson in plain text. Thanks again.

Anyone still here? I've recently decided to make the leap from Intermediate to Upper Intermediate, and decided to just start from the beginning.

Anyway, the one question I have from the dialog not answered in the discussion is regarding the single occurance of 并. The full sentence was:

在现代化建设中，邓小平提出并强调四个现代化。

Most of exposure to 并 so far has been when emphasizing something in the negative. Appreciate any insights not just on meaning (already see in dictionary "and, also, together with", but when to use relative to other options. Thanks.
