In 1949 Mao Zedong announced the establishment of the People's Republic of China on Tian’anmen Tower.The People's Liberation Army won the War of Resistance Against Japan and the War to Liberate China.

The Chinese Communist Party replaced the KMT, and became the governing party. China became a socialist country, Mao Zedong’s ideal was to build China into an industrialized socialist nation.
