For me, your "成不了龙,成鸿也行" could also make sense as itself without any GongFu reference but thinking of “成龙” as a name brings an interesting second layer of understanding.
Btw, in my last message I first tried to make a basic sentence using 成败 as a verb but had to quickly reconsider everything after I gave it another thought. ;o)

But, it would have been funny and politically incorrect if it used the same pattern of title as the first series with 《小黑子难缠》.
The first "Karate Kid" movie with the little white boy was called 《小子难缠》 (the tiresome little guy / the unreasonable little guy).
