November 26, 2009 at 9:33 AMDear All,
I am not sure if the finer points of the lady's character in this podcast may need to be explained further.
Guys (that means men) please learn from this lesson of "how not to impress" the opposite sex. Please make sure that if you are in China and in Chinese wish to find a hotel, please make sure you find it with skill of knowing what you are doing.
I do not think this lady's voice is too 娘娘腔的。 I believe this lady has had enough and possibly this man's `chances' has `wash down the drain' as he is unable to find the hotel succesfully.
Nothing happens if you cannot find it.....
Cheers.

Opposite or reverse to 相反 xiāngfǎn
"Reverse" Culture Shock 相反文化冲击 xiāngfǎnwénhuàchōngjī
Dear CPod, is there another special way to say "Reverse" Culture Shock in Chinese?

I have just read that Shabu-Shabu is a Japanese version of the Chinese Hot Pot.
王老吉 wánglǎojí does come in a can. The early versions of the can was very solid, hard to squash with your hands. The lattest version of the 王老吉 wánglǎojí is easier to squash with your hand, after drinking that is.
The reason why one side of the 鸳鸯锅 yuānyangguō hot pot may be quicker than the other is due to differences temperature of boiling points of mixtures, as different type of foodstuffs or different type of matter are placed in the opposite sides of this style of hotpot. The foodstuff mixtures with lower boiling points usually are quicker to boil, if the same amount of heat is given to both sides of the pot at the same time. (Just makes me want to set up a Bunson Burner to prove this again and again) I wonder if it is ok to set up a Bunsen Burner in the HotPot Resturant in case it is not hot enough? I know the hotpot table is supplied with its own gas bottle 煤气罐
Cheers.
