July 24, 2007 at 1:24 PMrichardsharpe, 着 after a verb generally creates a present continuous aspect. Therefore, 期待着 means 'to be expecting'. It is used for hightened emphasis. It is not the most common form of verb used in daily speech. You can say 我期待着明天的课/ I am looking forward to tomorrow's lesson. But it sounds quite dramatic.
