Yes, that is a shame.I've heard people if enough foreigners know about it and try to use it, that should push dianping to offer English service. But that's a chicken and egg question. However, there are some English magazines (and their websites) focusing on lifestyle and culture like That's Shanghai and CityWeekend. They have a version for Beijing and Guangzhou and some other cities too.

October 8, 2008 at 3:56 AM2 food lessons back to back. Someone is hungry^_^
I should also add that Dianping covers more than 20 cities in China. In fact, it made my National Day holiday a world better! Instead of going to touristy restaurants or KFC, I found some fantastic eateries in Qingdao and Dalian.

October 7, 2008 at 3:01 AMThe dish that needs a lot of clearing and changing is the individual small dish which is used to hold discarded food. Well, I shouldn't call it food since most of the time, it's bones or things that are not edible, (what qualifies for inedible is a big topic on its own). We actually call the little dish 骨碟/ gu3 die2, or 骨盆/ gu3 pen2, bone dish.

Otherwise,I'd post a mega comment full of gratitude. But most importantly is that we will continue to make cpod a phenomenal learning experience.

Eczema is 湿疹/shi1 zhen3. 'I think my eczema is coming back' is 我又发湿疹了/wo3 you4 fa1 shi1 zhen3 le. The verb 发 means 'break out'.
