Bababardwan,

Thanks for your feedback regarding format. After sticking to the same one for three and half years, we do want to explore new ways to help users learn. But of course it goes down to how users use the content and what best facilitates the learning process. Fear not, we won't change for the sake of change. That's why it's really helpful to hear users' thoughts on the issue. Thanks!

Fangaili,

I am very glad that this fascinating topic has inspired you to venture into the advanced territory. There are some uber cool words to pick up. For example,义体人。

Like I said in the podcast, many schools in China now don't let student dissect animals. You watch the teacher demonstrating. I think it's rather good since cutting open an animal will probably be a traumatic experience for kids.

Speaking of bags and especially heavy bags, we have the word '书包'/shu1 bao1, which is a word only valid if you are a student and your primary reason for carrying a bag is to carry books. In China, students don't leave books in school, because they need them to study and help do homework everyday. There are so many books they have to carry that the government started a big campaign to lighten 书包 and alleviate academic pressure. But at the end, it didn't really work. School life is still a cutthroat chase. But on the brighter side, students now have bags with wheels. At least it's easier on their shoulders.

Fellow Poddies,

Your comments and suggestions are duly noted. Let me first say that future Qing Wen's will go more in depth than this one.

In the next few shows, we will cover topics such as different ways to say 'break' or 'broken', the use of 放, where we analyse the usage and give plenty of examples. Hope you like them!

Thank you for your suggestions and criticism. First of all, let me say that this week's topic is about pragmatics.

With no intention to leave out our more advanced learners, I want to be clear that Qing Wen is designed for addressing grammar and language issues at newbie and elementary levels. So in that regard, it is absolutely right that we need a voice that can 'intuitively' relate to the questions a beginner student might have. And this QW team needs to work on that.

Mikeinewshot, topic suggestions are always welcome.
