Guys,

Thank you for your comments! You will indeed start to hear interviews of people from non-business background very soon as I've already recorded a few in the bank. But like I said in a comment to the first show, there is an entrepreneurial side to a lot of things that we do. And I find this 'making it happen' attitude to be a key feature of many people (foreigners and Chinese) living in China now.

@facepackbeijing,

Our male voice actors are mostly people from the tech team and David Xu, who hosted this podcast. They are all lovely guys.

@urbandweller,

Very nice to have you back in the community. Thank you for your encouragement. China is a very dynamic and highly stimulating place to be right now. I am very glad to have the opportunity to showcase it in my small ways.

@pchenery,

I have very little idea about visa regulations in China. But I've seen the very resourceful community has helped you out. It's something I should cover in the show.

@Joachim,

You will indeed hear from people from other fields. I have interviewed singer, architect, founder of non-profit organizations, etc. But what I've learned is that there is an entrepreneurial aspect to those too.

@Tonypain and Poddies,

The file name was acting up, but the content is correct. It's a ChinesePod advanced lesson about 红楼梦。

Good news keeps coming. ChinesePod is starting a physical class in Shanghai, and it's enrolling now. Check it out!

@henning,

Sometimes, the Chinese have such a wacky sense of humor.

My dad runs a pop music school in Shanghai. Many of the students go to compete in talent shows. He watches those programs religioulsy to see how they are doing.

@chris,

I just tried your tip. It's wonderful! The Pinyin Program has made me see pinyin and the sound of Chinese in a completely different light. As a native speaker, you simply memorize every sound as the teacher told you to. No reasoning at all.

There was an article in the Economist not long ago about the Carlifornia state legislature passing a resolution apologising for a long history of discrimination that dates back to the gold rush and railway construction. The article featured quotes from prominent American Chinese expressing pride in how far they've come, realizing the American dream. Many Chinese inside China find the stories of overseas Chinese very inspiring.
