August 24, 2007 at 1:24 PM有可能"国家"，"爱国主义"和有关的概念的确过时了吗? 看来人类大多数问题不是当地的就是国际的。 长期来说 - "国家"这个概念对人类有什么好处?

August 24, 2007 at 5:44 AMI learned 一言为定 last year in the Fashion lesson (http://chinesepod.com/learnchinese/%e4%b8%ad%e5%9b%bd%e7%9a%84%e6%97%b6%e8%a3%85%e8%ae%be%e8%ae%a1%e5%b8%88/) and immediately started using it. Because I found it was dead easy to remember. That one turned out to be an impression machine ("他的水平怎么高")! Only negative side-effect was that my counterparts adjusted their level of Chinese accordingly and I soon ended up waving the white flag of total-blankness. This again showed me how the notion of "difficulty" varies for first and second language acquisition. I have troubles with "he is about to jump from the bridge" but 一言为定 - no problem :)
