Grrr.

changye.

I learned 一言为定 last year in the Fashion lesson (http://chinesepod.com/learnchinese/%e4%b8%ad%e5%9b%bd%e7%9a%84%e6%97%b6%e8%a3%85%e8%ae%be%e8%ae%a1%e5%b8%88/) and immediately started using it. Because I found it was dead easy to remember. That one turned out to be an impression machine ("他的水平怎么高")! Only negative side-effect was that my counterparts adjusted their level of Chinese accordingly and I soon ended up waving the white flag of total-blankness. This again showed me how the notion of "difficulty" varies for first and second language acquisition. I have troubles with "he is about to jump from the bridge" but 一言为定 - no problem :)

trevelyan Dave, but you promised us explosions last week, didn't you? Are there any other cities which play a central role in the plot or even make it into the title :)

An English related question: What is "itiveness" (resp. "stick-to-itiveness")?

Asberger"?
