September 3, 2008 at 9:14 AMone additional comment about 谷歌拼音输入法 (Google) is it assumes the underlying keyboard layout is US-QWERTY.
This gets really tricky when you use other layouts such as AZERTY (法国) QWERTZ (德国) etc., thus my reference above to 各个国家的键盘布局。
@ auntie68, thanks for this. I know you have a special interest in

August 28, 2008 at 1:00 PM'Of all the things the boss wants me to do, only 20% are important.' that is said tongue in cheek, right? reality is, I may be asked to focus on the 80pc key things, which then may only require 20pc of the effort, not the other way around - this is at best, in reality with goals and bonuses it really doesnt apply, incentive is to o for 150pc

August 28, 2008 at 12:44 PMin the banter, John translates 策略 cèlǜe as strategy. In practice there is a key difference between strategy (战略 zhànlǜe strategy) and tactic(s), correctly translated in the vocab thouh. I'm now boarding a plane, could give concrete exemples when I get a ood connection.

August 28, 2008 at 6:56 AMJenny, to me the most useful would be professional, but in a general business sense. It means things like organizing and running meetings, discussing strategies, goals, business plans, budgets, also presentations, reports, recruitment, asking for quotes, giving tasks etc. A number of these topics have been touched upon in the past, I would certainly enjoy more in-depth, comprehensive dialogues (which might need to be more advanced).
It still includes a fair amount a small talk, 'how have you been', 'what project are you working on' type of things, but should be limited as far as vertical (i.e. job or industry-specific). That's a quite a fine line though.
