Actually, the PDFs from the lessons on either side of these two have English translations. They seem to be the odd ones out.

The PDFs of this lesson (0366) and the following Advanced lesson (0370) do not include English translations. Error or intentional?
Further, much of the Pinyin (in this lesson only), includes numbers for tones instead of tone markers. It looks like this PDF was never finished off properly.

I think we all want the same thing. Instead of waiting, I wanted to make these sheets for my own benefit. Yes, it would be great to have expansion sentences, but this is better than nothing for me. Hopefully others might find it useful as well.

BTW Pete, my online dictionary suggests that even though 片 has the 4th tone (piàn), that 片儿 has the 1st tone (piānr). Who is correct here?

August 22, 2009 at 5:16 AMMay I suggest a topic - a series of Qingwens on Conjunctions. I know some have been covered already, but it would be nice to contrast and compare a larger set. Here is the list of conjunctions my grammar book provides:
bùdán (不但) not only, bùguăn (不管) no matter if, búguò (不过) however, bùjĭn (不仅) not only, bùrán (不然) otherwise, bùrú (不如) better to, búshì (不是) if not, chúfēi (除非) unless, dànshì (但是) but, érqiĕ (而且) moreover, fánér (反而) on the contrary, fŏuzé (否则) otherwise, huòzhĕ (或者) or, jiărú (假如) if, jìnguăn (尽管) although, jìrán (既然) since, jíshĭ (即使) even if / even though, jiùshì (就是) then, jiùsuàn (就算) even if, kĕshì (可是) but, năpà (哪怕) even if / even though, nìngkĕ (宁可) would rather, ránhòu (然后) after that, rúguŏ (如果) if, suīrán (虽然) though, suŏyĭ (所以) therefore, wúlùn (无论), regardless of whether, yàoshi (要是) if, yĕbù (也不) and definitely not, yīncĭ (因此) therefore, yīnwèi (因为) because, yóuyú (由于) owing to, yŭqí (与其) rather than, yúshì (于是) thereupon, zhĭyào (只要) provided, zhĭyŏu (只有) only if
Many of these look so close in meaning to me, I wouldn't know which should be used when.
