Regarding the sentence from the dialog:

A:  因为其它比赛更重要。(Yīnwèi qítā bĭsài gèng zhòngyào.)  Because other matches are more important.

1. How would you say "Because other matches are just as important" ?

2. Would 'less important' be 更不重要 (gèng bù zhòngyào) ?

Makes sense. Regarding these complements, how do you determine whether to use 来 or 出 when the motion is between two parties other than yourself? I would have chosen 发出 in my example, as 'they' are sending it 'out', aren't they?

Regarding 付钱 (fùqián) - does this word only apply when paying by cash? Can it be used when paying by cheque or credit card?

Also CPod, in your Key Vocabulary, you define 一定 (yídìng) as 'have to'. Shouldn't the definition be 'definitely'? The 'have to' in the dialog is provided by the 要 (yào)

In the Expansion sentence:

我刚刚和他去逛街了。 (Wŏ gānggang hé tā qù guàngjiē le.)  I just went shopping with him.

My dictionaries define 逛街 as 'window shopping' or just 'taking a stroll'. Is this the same as going shopping? Is there a better word for 'going shopping'?

Thanks zhenlijiang and changye. But changye, I lose the flow of your logic when you say branch > unit. Anyway, I hadn't realised it was a general measure word for army units, so I guess I can accept it now.

Thanks for that. But is 凉 'cool to the touch', similar to 烫. Or is it used in a similar way to 热 (rè)?

Interestingly, Yellowbridge, Nciku and MDBG all translate 凉 (liáng) as both 'cool' and 'cold'. And they both translate 冰凉 (bīngliáng) as 'ice-cold', identical to 冰冷 (bīnglěng).

Some other temperature words I found :

寒 (hán) - cold

寒冷 (hánlěng) - cold (climate) / frigid / very cold

凉快 (liángkuai) - nice and cold / pleasantly cool / to cool oneself off

严寒 (yánhán) - severe cold / bitter cold

炎热 (yánrè) - blistering hot / scorching hot

温 (wēn) - warm / lukewarm / to warm up

暖 (nuǎn) - warm / to warm up

暖和 (nuǎnhuo) - warm / nice and warm / to warm up

温暖 (wēnnuǎn) - warm / mild

取暖 (qǔnuǎn) - to warm oneself (by a fire or heater)

保暖 (bǎonuǎn) - to keep warm

升温 (shēngwēn) - to heat up

Anyway, any comments regarding my second question?
