Actually, I deleted that question within the 15 minute window, after I discovered that it was answered in the podcast. I must have deleted after you hit 'reply' but before you submitted. Interestingly, your comment still appears on your profile page. I actually wondered as I was deleting it what would happen if someone was in the process of replying.

Anyway, sorry that I wasted your efforts. Perhaps CPod could look into a way of solving this problem. I don't mind if they resurrect my original question.

I actually think 'airplane' makes more sense than 'flight'. 'Flight' literally refers to your passage in the plane - the plane trip, so I think the English usage is a bit odd. You catch the plane, THEN you go on your flight. After all, we say "catch the 11 o'clock bus", not "catch the 11 o'clock bus trip". But I don't know whether 航班 can be used or not.

It seems from the comments above that the touchiness on this issue comes entirely from the US. Is there a reason for this? How often do 'victims' complain about such 'treatment'?

Anyway, the point of my original comment was to challenge the use of 'discrimination' to describe this situation. It seems that when people want to convey a point with conviction, they will choose the first emotive word that comes to mind, whether or not it applies to the situation.

Discrimination? Racial discrimination involves treating someone less favorably than someone else based solely upon their race. How can you possibly say someone who makes an honest mistake while simply trying to be cordial is being discriminatory. I really do get tired of people bandying about emotive terms, while not having a clue what they are talking about.
