Oh, so in German Fell means both Tierhaut and Pelz. And Pelz means Tierfell and Haut... I'm lost (wait, I can't be speaking German) :)

The franch version (thanks for the coinage, italiana) goes thus- "Frère Jacques, frère Jacques, Dormez vous, dormez vous, Sonnez les matînes, sonnez les matînes, Ding dingue* dong, ding dingue* dong" * Using a nasal consonant 真奇怪, yesterday I was wondering why the Chinese version hadn't that 叮咚 dīng dōng in it :) The one our Chinese teachers taught us had indeed 一只没有眼睛,一只没有尾巴 at the second line. Does it make any more sense, I let it to you...

Channa - It's common to run into 标准 biāo zhǔn in all kinds of talk, it means standard, in the standard sense. I'd be interested in comments from the Team on that use, is it 标准的 to refer to the "ideal" weight? In fact what is interesting is to see such a prosaic meaning of "ideal". But weight is a materialistic concern, isn't it. Anyway John Doe is a bit above the 标准, that's why it's such a struggle to stand out. (Goes away mumbling - 罗里落唆)

Channa, as Changye noted above, 发福 fā fú (to get happy) is the courteous and playful way to say to a friend that he put on weight. Speaking about yourself 长膘 cháng biāo (to fatten) is bold but OK, if your tone is light hearted. Lantian, come on, 减肥 jiǎn féi is the topic of the podcast, and you should know, it's about always the topic of the podcast which is displayed on the photo. Even if you don't have a 词典 handy, you can't say that you don't know anything about phonetic components... I think you're just trying to raise an uproar from the lazy within. I've seen a number of posts from you where you vindicated self-help. Now, do you want every pinyin to pop-up until Cpodders are the guys who stare at you in the street, waiting for an automatic transcript of your banter? Just teasing :)

Hey Cpod, your topics get more touchy everyday! 唉,现代的男人挺是伪善的,他们不但一点儿胖都不忍,而且快要斥责挑肥拣瘦的女孩... 真失望的! Please tell me, J&J, is the 救生拳的比喻, life-saver image related to the necessity of fat (oh yes) or to the appearance of a lifebuoy? We have just the same metaphor in French :) I mighty agree with Coljac, you've slowed down to a perfect cruising rhythm, thank you for being so user-friendly!

Nope, not skin, just the hair (Fell, yea, fourrure) but only when it is long and sought after by greedy humans :(
