May 29, 2009 at 8:51 PMIt turns out that the RSS feed for an individual lesson such as this one is worthless, because all the items are presented with the same date/time (20 hours ago), and the oldest ones are first instead of last (more important than the other oddity). With Google Reader, it appears that nothing new ever appears. ChinesePod, this would be a valuable feature it worked.

May 29, 2009 at 9:36 AMI found the RSS button that will feed just the comments I haven't read yet, for a single lesson, to my RSS reader -- it's to the right of the word "Comments" at the top of the comments. I expect that to work great.

May 27, 2009 at 4:15 PMHere is a question about the grammar of 给 when used as preposition. In 我推荐一些地方给你吧 the prepositional clause 给你 comes after the verb+object 推荐一些地方, but in the grammar book by Cheung it says that such clauses should go before, perhaps like this: 我给你推荐一些地方吧. In the discussion, Jenny, in a different sentence, does put such a clause in that position: 所以他给我们推荐了很多东西. Does anyone have any insight into that choice?

May 27, 2009 at 12:25 PMThanks to your transcripts, I feel I finally have a chance to break the code and learn how to listen (quickly) to (unscripted) Chinese. So thank you again for your effort. Perhaps chinesepod would be willing to post them in annotated form on the web site, so mouseover events display dictionary definitions of the words under them.
Meanwhile, at 10:37 you have 所以他给我们推荐了很多东西, which perhaps should be preceded by something that sounds like 对. (The 所以 seems to be squeezed together, resulting in the sound "sui2"; thanks for figuring that out.)
