I hear that “垃圾” is pronounced "lese" in Taiwan, which is originated in southern dialect pronunciation in mainland China.

Hi xiaophil

Looks like it's a matter of typeface. The left one “将” is used in 华康香港标准宋体, but I don't know why it appears here in Chinesepod. Is that due to Unicode? For the record, you can find the right one in Chinese dictionaries, but not the left one. In Japan, the left one “将” is commonly used.

Without fertilizer and pesticide, how can you feed all the human beings on this planet?

The character “机” indicates “生物机能” (vital function) here, although the word “有机” doesn't properly represent the meaning "organic" of today.

辅修专业又称是第二专业,这对大学当局来说实际上是第二个主要收入来源。

我认识的一个中国女大学生本来想在北京念书,她很喜欢学物理,所以高考报名时报了一所北京的重点理科大学,但没想到是后来她爸妈不告诉女儿就换了她的志愿。现在那个可怜的女生在吉林长春学英语呢,惨!父母那样做的理由很简单,长春离他们住的地方很近,往来方便!

Hi xiao_liang

Do you think all the newcomers read the commenting policy of Chinesepod before they post a comment?

Hi bodawei

I often get spams written in Russian, and I ended up buying a small Russian/Japanese dictionary. In this sense, spams are not necessarily a bad thing, hehe.

Hi joeborn

Dictionary-wise, the right one is "yun4 che1", but in reality it's often pronounced "yun1 che1".
