fortnight=两(个)星期 two weeks
And also some other new related to week.
We all know that a month has four weeks, and we call the 1st and the 3rd week单周dan1zhou1which literaly means single week, and we call the 2nd and the 4th week双周shuang1zhou1which literaly means double week.
我们每逢单周都会有烧烤。
We have BBQ every single week.
Hope that will not puzzle you.

May 31, 2008 at 4:38 AM路加,
yes, So if we had a BBQ last week, we wouldn't have one this week but we would have one next week.
That's what i mean by我们每隔一周烧烤一次。P.s. I think i should add the 一次which means once at the end of the sentence. That might be easy for you to understand.
Here are some other examples:
每隔一周 every two days=every second day
每隔一个位子 every two seats=every second seat
哈,let me try to explain it in another way!
There are five seats in a row. And our dear auntie68, you and me were asked to sit by every second seat.每隔一个位子坐下。
It looks like this:
auntie68 blank Light blank cassie
Hope that will help.^_^

May 31, 2008 at 10:11 AMoh, i think i should correct the sentence above.
我们每逢单周都会有烧烤。
We have BBQ every odd week.
I think "single week" that i used above will puzzle you guys, since it also means "one week".
