I guess this kind of typos might be partly attributed to the increase of computer (and WP) use.
You are quicker than me! I just wanted to add another matter that might cause this phenomena.

August 30, 2008 at 3:44 AMha,auntie68, I think xiaohu meant the "的" after the verb“说”. Sorry, it was a typo. It should be你的中文说得很好！
there are three "de"“的、得、地”in chinese.
“的”always followed by a noun.
“得”often used after a verb and followed by a adjective.
“地” always followed by a verb.
Those are from dictionary. But just like you have mentioned that one of your penfriend never used “得”. You will find that many chinese people use the word “的” almost everytime. And chinese people get used to it altought we all know it is a grammar mistake!

福建没有地铁，所以我也没有坐过地铁，不知道为什么，每次看到地铁老是会想起电视剧《男才女貌》，想起那首主题歌《他一定很爱你》！
