June 21, 2013 at 3:56 PMso, well they said the phrase from the dialog is 客观/objective. So, it's based on fact that the maid is lazy and does a poor job? That sounds more like of an opinion to me.

June 21, 2013 at 1:03 PMthanks for the explanation, but I still don't get this at all. "人懒,活干得也不好“ , why is this line labeled as 客观 instead of 主观 ?
By the way, are these words "objective" and "subjective" just the translations of these Chinese ways of thinking, or do English speakers ever use "objective" and "subjective" to explain wording in speech? I've certainly never it, but maybe I've been out of the loop?

(This is Cantonese, for those who don't know)

June 21, 2013 at 8:00 AMDoes anyone know how they write "domestic helper" in Hong Kong? I don't think it's with 阿姨

June 21, 2013 at 7:49 AMthe Chinese word 客观 was used by Vera in this lesson. I hear Chinese people say this word quite frequently, but I have no clue what it means. I know the English definition is "objective", but that doesn't help me understand. Maybe we can get a Qingwen all about 客观?
