This lesson has Chinese interviewers asking questions that I have had to answer and I have had to ask in the past, in English. Hence the query on "deja vu", which is a pinch from French any way. Looks like the same questions the world over.

April 8, 2009 at 9:29 PMThis is a popular discussion. Great to see all the pictorial examples from poddies. Seems like everyone who has travelled has toilet stories. I once stopped in a country hotel in Germany and the w.c. was located in the passage to the bathroom. (Probably a modernization to an old building.) Whilst doing my business, I was entertained by visiting bathroom users of both sexes by bidding a good-day as they walked past. I'm a male, (if you haven't noticed) and I am still wary of female attendants in some toilets, especially in Europe. If you go to Taiwan, make sure you know how to say 厕所 properly.I found it easier to say 洗手间, especially when I was in a hurry. A good tip is always to have spare change in some countries as they charge, especially if they have attendants looking after the premises.
