Great explanation of "topic comment sentence".I find it also really helps breaking down these sentences as you're listening into little chunks such as is done in the topic then comment.
Definitely one of my favourite lessons.I enjoyed the exaggerated drama and you could just imagine the poor guys stress levels rising,climaxing with the announcement.I agree with pretzylogics comment about things going wrong...and it seemed to be going smoothly at the start.Ah yes,another great dialogue.Reminds of the importance of a docs letter to cover your meds just in case.Yeah,probably a very easy intermediate,but it's nice to have these encouraging little lifelines for ellies to get a toe in to a higher level.Obviously CPod is cleverly catering not for 6 strictly defined levels,but every shade of grey between.谢谢CPod.

January 16, 2009 at 10:38 AMThe second sentence in the expansion has 这里translated as "there" in the rollover function,whereas it has it as "here" in the translation underneath which seems more correct,but I may be wrong.
ha;the character 哭 for cry looks like a person who has rubbed their eyes from crying till the eyes are swollen.Just the way I'll remember it.
zao1gao1 consists of two complex looking characters 糟糕.I bet the etymology is interesting here.Pretty cool word;sounds like the Chinese equivalent of Homer Simpson's "d'oh"

January 16, 2009 at 8:42 AMhaha;classic old British accent Ken 哈哈。I also like the tip of acceding to the request to 坐吧 immediately when you don't want to and then getting straight back up again.hehe
What I particularly found useful in this lesson was Jenny extrapolating on the other uses of 坏了，especially with the less expected example of being used in relation to food that's gone off.Otherwise one can not be confident that it can be used in these other circumstances.
I'll have to remember that one urbandweller;very good.
A funny dilemna songyian;I can see that happening.hehe

ouch.Great story and very typical I'd say.Some can't think outside the box/suitcase.That was going to make things complicated.There was only a minor fuss when security was stepped up here to include frisking international travellers a couple of years ago as shown in the article here.It wouldn't worry me overly but I would be pretty unimpressed if they tried that on one of my daughters.Our personal freedoms are being eroded without too much protest as far as I can see.

We're on the same wavelength here.I was going to make exactly the same comment about voice D.Noticed his voice before usually in a similar role and always makes me laugh.Loved the enthusiasm for the xitang in this one.hehe
