..ooh right;now I get it.Benjamin Franklin meant we should see people with vast talent and experience as throw away like other disposable chattels with use by dates, did he? Pity;I always thought he was wise till now...

My first encounter with Zombies was watching an episode of "Kolchak,The Night Stalker" in the mid 70's as a young kid.I must have been into adrenaline from a young age as I loved that series at the time.Probably would seem dated and not scary now,but as a kid it achieved the desired effect.

These 气 sucking Chinese 僵尸's remind me a little of the soul sucking Dementors in Harry Potter.I wonder if JK was aware of Chinese Zombies.

What a great lesson.Wish I'd caught up with it earlier. There are heaps of lessons in the archives addressing all sorts of everyday things. The language in this can be widely applied anyhow.Yeah, the entertainment value really reinforces the language;makes it stick better.

All the lines in the dialogue were great.I also liked this line:

 废话

..was he giving away his insecurity here with the 吧?

Very handy that when a 僵尸 turns up the 师傅 just happens to be a 僵尸道长。

RJ,

"Im quite sure they can give ppt presentations, as I have sat through many that have no other explanation."

"Niubi's"

...you're on a roll mate;加油,lol.

user28880,

"is it 僵尸的僵?

..I really enjoyed your sharing of that.Great example, hehe.

shenyajin,

Thanks so much for clarifying that.I have seen 想要 before but this has been a good exercise in the need to use it to distinguish.

I presume there's no way to directly buy the starters pack workbook? I'm not up for renewal of subscription for a few months.

A question about this sentence from the expansion:

北京

..I thought it meant:

He also wants to go to Beijing.

..but it has been translated as:

(He is also going to Beijing.)

As wanting to do something and actually planning to do it are two different things, how can one tell this was a planned action in this case and not just a desire. Also how would one say?:

He also wants to go to Beijing.

Is there no blue sky in even the rural areas the Great Wall passes through?

Vikram,

hehe, very good mate.In the past one might have said that'll happen when pigs fly,but now this swine flew is crossed with bird flu, perhaps it'll fly as you suggest.Or did it already happen and that is what caused this swine/bird flu? Chicken/egg argument.

Interesting that its 地图 and not  土图.Thanks for the explanation of 地下铁路 Jenny which makes 地铁 clearer.Yeah carlos_in_irvine,gusto is the word for it.I love the expression they get into those tones.Great acting as always.Entertaining in their own right.

From the expansion 找你五块 is interesting. This makes me think of a vendor fishing around in his pockets or bag or something ,saying effectively ..I'm finding your 5 kuai change. Is this right? Or ...here you go,I've found your 5 kuai change.
