My poor attempt [with errors I'm sure] at translating Lane's excellent dialogue[I love the way the background music and Lane's voice both built up to the climax at the end;classic, hehe].Any corrections [and filling in the gaps] much appreciated.

Pete,

I too was interested in the answer to that good question. To clarify a bit further, would you mind giving some examples of answers to the above two questions ,just so there is no misunderstanding? I'd be much obliged.

Jenny,

"..teenagers addressing each other as husband and wife".

I'd love to hear more about this as I haven't struck it in my limited experience.Do they use "laopo" etc ,or do they just speak as if they were an old married couple?

I think translating 要 as want in English can still work in the final sentence if it is said in the right persuasive tone [typically used by a parent to a child who is about to do something naughty]..."you don't want to do that".

You not want return.Trying to change his mind [to her way of thinking].

I heard the first sentence of the dialogue as 我明天回国。

Could one also say :我明天要回澳大利亚 ?[Tomorrow I must return to Australia].Actually I've just seen this more specific type of construction is possible as shown in the expansion.I suppose either can be used then,or is one definitely more usual [that is the generic guo,vs specifying the country]?

sushan,

Ah,不好意思,I see it now. That's the second time I've missed something earlier in a thread lately [that I know of].三课在一个天。。。我是僵尸,哈哈。Thanks for your patience as I see that earlier post also answered my first question。I'll try and be more careful in future.谢谢
