..there are exceptions to this,but the main thing in answer to your question is that it was only introduced in 1979.

。。“在她身上”。我觉得意思是：this 她 is not a character from the book.It's someone talking about a female friend and likening her transformation into a beautiful person to the story of the ugly duckling ,对不对？

Have you tried the skritter tool which can be found in the vocab tab of the lessons or in your vocab manager under your ME tab? It could help with stroke order,writing with the cursor etc.Also nicku may answer some of your needs.
I was checking mdbg to see whether Jenny's comment at 5m11s was merely the English word "naive" thrown in amongst the 中文 or whether it was a very close transliteration.It appears it was the former.But interestingly I came across this character 实 again this time in a word for naive ..老实。。which also means honest.What's that saying?..that if you're honest then you're also naive? Seems like an unfortunate connection in meaning.

Sorry mate,but though I may be a bit rusty on the genealogy stuff,I would have thought your mothers cousin was your first cousin once removed.The removed bit refers to how many generations you are separated by.Your mothers first cousins kids are your second cousins.When the generation of second cousins have kids,the kids are each others third cousin.Your mothers second cousin is your second cousin once removed.So basically from memory,my understanding was that if there are generations between you,you look at what the relationship is between this other person and your predecessor that was from the same generation[eg in this case your mother] and then look at how many generations separate you for the removed bit.Now if someone could just shed light on how this is all expressed in Chinese then that would be awesome.
