It looks like ggloege noted that in June 2007 so I guess there never was mate :) My guess is that it was because it was a different lesson format to usual.

April 21, 2010 at 3:59 AMwell my first impression of haibao was of a tooth with a lick o' toothpaste ,but I've just googled gumby and I can see definitely quite alike.I don't know if we ever got that show here in Oz but I note it was before my time.Is that where the expression "gumby" comes from? ..like ..he's a real gumby ?
