Sorry it's youtube:

Not sure if you can get videogoogle [ I know there were problems with google] in China, but here's another clip:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6841522482756137937#

..interestingly it's the 2005 World Cup final and it's between USA and Canada [East]...looks like mostly of South Asian origin..from immigrants I guess [I know there is quite a community in Canada] . But still, surprising it's not India/Pakistan/Bangladesh or some other Country from the region in the final.

Those in China might have more luck watching this clip which is interesting because it shows the Indian National team training for the current Asian Games and you can hear them chanting kibaddi over and over. Apparently Buddha played this village game as a kid. Here's the clip:

Hey, I haven't heard of it before but this Kabaddi sounds like awesome fun. Apparently the national game of Bangladesh. Anyone seen or heard of it?:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kabaddi

a team contact sport [originally a form of combat training] from South Asia and the national game of a country not so distant from China ...I'm a little surprised China can't raise a team to compete.

Crikey, I reckon this returning to the home side before taking a breath must be hard to referee. I wonder if they've employed some modern technology, esp at this level to monitor that? I guess even something as simple as a mike would be helpful for the audience ,not to mention entertaining hearing the kabaddi kabaddi kabaddi chant.

Where's our mate Gulam? I think he could give us some insightful comments here ? ..or maybe Vikram if he's still around.

I think this is the original and should be viewable in China:

..a slow paced and simple song, so it should be readily accessible to Intermediate poddies.

Henning,

I'm not sure if you know or not, but I'm pretty sure Changye got into studying German, but he hasn't been around for a few months now. I guess you could try PM'ing him.
