Hey, this is really strange. Just above the lesson avatar there is now this ad for qzone.qq.com. It's not happening on another other CPod pages, or any other sites, but if I open a a second tab with this page on it, it's there again. And I swear I haven't touched a drop of this baijiu [or anything else, hehe]. Is anyone else seeing this?

I love these lessons where it's not only about the language, but has some practical advice on how to go about specific matters in China today. Well done.

“他们机场各种手续”。。手续。。。not to be confused with 手术...they'll send someone to the airport to do all sorts of operations on your pet with you [绝育,之类的】

Just noticed something interesting in the dialogue tab when I happened to keep rolling over the simple stuff out of [bad] habit:

带回家

is given in the rollover as:

带回 ...to bring

and 家..to go home

...firstly I would have put the 回 with the 家 to render those definitions, but more importantly it's about how I would say [and expect to hear] such a lexical chunk. Certainly 回家 is commonly heard. Not sure whether I've specifically heard  带回 before but it's not a particularly surprising combo and my rollover has it as "to bring back". But in that combination, I would have said it as 带 and 回家 [with that infintessimally small pause between them...pause is probably not the right word..not sure what is?]. I know prosody can be a lot of other things ...rhythm, stress, intonation...so not sure if this also would fall under a prosody problem. I guess I feel reasonably confident it could be said as 带 and 回家. I guess the question is can it also be said as 带回 and 家?

simongrant,

I don't have time lately to do any transcripts, but if you were to highlight the times in the podcast where you had trouble, I would be happy to have a listen and see if I can help/we can nut it out together.

Now this is where we need to get our local friendly 警察 【policeperson] on board, on BST as suggested by RJ here:

http://chinesepod.com/lessons/inside-the-baozi-business#comment-205008

..to advise on where one stands and what to do if you find yourself [well hopefully we Poddies are all well informed enough now, but if a mate gives you a tinkle explaining such a pickle] in such a predicament as the tea scam.
