March 6, 2012 at 10:20 AMthanks for listening. That's great Jenny. I would have still been stoked with just having the video lessons, but it's an added bonus if we get the audio too.

March 6, 2012 at 10:18 AMin the interim, I opened the video in audacity and then exported it as an mp3 [audio only] and dragged it into itunes no problems.

March 6, 2012 at 9:57 AMgotcha. Yeah, good point mate. like how we currently have cd and radio quality audio, maybe they could have a low resolution version. I was thinking about that when I saw it was over 200MB [though that's not a problem for me either]

March 6, 2012 at 9:47 AMI tend to think of 10 minutes as a very short lesson, particularly for UI, 15 mins seems closer to average to me, and 20 minutes seems longer than usual. Just checked my itunes UI lessons to confirm, and found that the shortest I have is 10m 5s...the working hours policy, and then they range up to the longest being 24m27s Detective Li's final mission part 1.
I can't agree with you on limiting the length. I think that as the higher level lessons have longer dialogues have potentially more to discuss, I just trust in the hosts abilities to judge what they think is worth discussing.
And I know I should let this slide, but I just can't...I thought John was in awesome form,as usual.

March 6, 2012 at 6:37 AMjust answered my own question about getting video to play in my podcast playlist. It didn't at first until I went into the movie section of itunes with my iphone connected and selected the playlist there. I simply transferred the full lesson [that I'd downloaded from the website onto my desktop ] into itunes by dragging and dropping it into my car playlist. Plays like a charm. So a quick solution in the interim, but it would still be preferable to get the video to directly download in itunes and also have an audio only version for when you can only listen.

March 6, 2012 at 5:07 AMactually, I've just recalled video does play in my car sending just audio to my car stereo, but I'm not sure if my itunes playlist will allow me to mix video with audio, and also, as I won't be watching video while I drive, audio would sap less battery power from my iphone. So ideally I still want video for my iphone for when I'm not driving, and audio for when I am. Thanks again CPod :) ...made my day.

March 6, 2012 at 5:04 AMgood question mate. I love the video too, but I'd like to listen to the whole lesson again when I'm driving as well. I'll second this request.

March 6, 2012 at 12:52 PMha, this 筒 is interesting. Bamboo goes with 条。。。obviously it's measure word and not 竹, whereas circles has gone for 筒 which means cylinder/tube...which has the bamboo radical on top....of course bamboo is not only long and thin as per its measure word, but it's also cylindrical [or circular in cross section]. So the character with bamboo in it's radical is not for bamboo, but for circles.
