Nutcracker

I used to learn 太极剑 from an old chap in the nearest park to my xiaoqu.

He spoke really nicely and clearly, but was about the only person in the park at six in the morning who I could understand. He had to translate the others' putonghua into putonghua for me.

Nobody except for him understood what my problem was.

Just yesterday I was wondering if "(adj) 死了" could be used in a positive way. Now I have my answer. Thank you ChinesePod.

Actually the example I was thinking of was "好死了”. Is that natural Chinese or a bit weird?

Hey Tvan,

You guys call gravy brown gravy? In England we just say gravy, what other coloured gravies do you have?

Also, one little typo; turkey is huoji, not houji. Fire chicken, weird.

Zoey

Hello teacher Zoey,

Do you have a little oven? When I was in China I didn't so if I wanted to make pizza I had to roast it in a wok. Inconvenient!

Yeah, that's what I meant by them not wanting to look unhelpful. Maybe there's a subtle clue to make it clear that that don't really know, but it goes straight over my laowai head.
