The word literally means doing the split, which often appears in gymnastics.

It can also mean having an affair or cheating on someone.

Yes, it really changed the way people make transactions. It took me some time to get used to it when I first visited China.

Hi Simon,

These words might seem confusing but have slight differences between each.

客户 is clients. So it often is used in business or programs in companies. For example, 这间公司是这个项目的客户。

顾客 is customers. In stores and shops, customers are the ones that come in and buy stuff. For example, 店里的顾客都离开了。

客人 is also customers, but in other cases, it can mean guests. As long as they are stepping into your home or store, they can be called as 客人. For example, 客人来家里前都要先打扫一下。

Hope this is clear for you to understand the difference in order to use it correctly.

For male friends, you can say 男生朋友.

When using this word as "and / with", it is interchangeable, for example, 我和他去学校了。我跟他都是华人。

If you want to say follow someone, it cannot be replaced with 和, For example, 大家请跟着我一起走。刚刚有个女生一直跟着我。

In China, it is pronounced as jue2se4. In other Chinese speaking countries or regions, it is often pronounced as jiao3se4.
