I should add, within the "Lessons" section (complete listing of Newbie, Elementary, Intermediate, etc lessons), the lessons' status are all shown correctly. And within the pages for any particular lesson, the status also shows correctly. In other words, if I go the home page and click on a link for a lesson that shows status = "Remove", after clicking on the link and going to the actual lesson page, it correctly shows "Bookmarked" status within the actual lesson pages. So, to sum up, this only seems to affect a handful of lessons that were already bookmarked at the time of the transition to the new home page, and it shows up as an incorrect status on the home page even though everywhere else the status is displayed correctly. on the particular lesson that displays "Remove" status on the home page, it correctly shows "Bookmarked"

The new home page still seems to be displaying lesson status incorrectly sometimes. Lessons that I finished studying before the home page change show up correctly as "Studied" in the home page listing. Lessons that I bookmarked after the home page change show up correctly as "Bookmarked" in the home page listing. However, lessons that I bookmarked before the home page change show up with status "Remove" in the home page listing. And lessons that I bookmarked before the home page change and then set to "Studied" after the home page change (setting the status from within the Exercises page within the lesson itself) show up with status "Bookmarked" in the home page listing.

Re: 商量, I have always thought the second syllable was neutral tone, but after reading the above postings I checked the Xiandai Hanyu Cidian just now. To my surprise, they give it as shāngliáng (2nd tone!). The definition is "交换意见", so it's not some hypothetical other "商量". A dictionary error, surely?

At around 03:45, John describes 贬值 as being 4th tone + 2nd tone, and Jenny agrees, but of course it's 3rd + 2nd. Both of them pronounce it 3rd + 2nd, I think John just misspoke and said "4th". A quick bit of overdubbing magic may be in order...

AuntySue, When someone tells you to have a nice day, just say "No thanks, I've made other plans"

section 2 out of 3 in the Exercises has a couple of errors: "that" and "/" make no sense for matching 认错 and 而已

MikeInLondon, It is 到底 and the meaning is something like "finally, in the end, after all, in the final analysis". In a question, it can be used to add the meaning of "what's the final verdict, what's the final answer", asking for a clearcut answer, asking for a clarification or a summing up after both sides of a story are presented. Some examples: 你跟他们到底有什么关系? 北极到底是谁的北极 -- a recent news headline: whose North Pole is it anyway [Russia's been making noises lately about claiming it] 男人女人 到底是谁睡了谁 http://china.com.cn/health/txt/2007-08/11/content_8665311.htm (interesting apparent use of 睡 as a transitive verb)

Henning, I always used to find 之所以 a bit confusing until I figured out the word order was different from English. A 之所以 B the reason why A [is/does] B So it means "the reason why", but in Chinese it comes after rather than before "A".
