Yeah, good question... these two words are similar, and I can see how it can be easy to get them mixed up. Let me help. When I think of 期望 I think of expectations. It can mean hope, but the difference is that it is not as broad, and there is usually some condition or situation that makes the use of this word more specific. 老师的期望 Teachers expectations.
希望 is usually more general, and it means 'hope'. It would be used in a situation where one hopes or wishes for a situation to be realized, but doesn't necessarily expect it. 我希望机会装了好多钱。
I know it is a bit outside the scope of your question, but let me talk a moment about 盼望 pan4wang4 盼望 is similar to 希望 but there are some differences as well. Both mean 'to hope' but 盼望 is a stronger word than 希望. It would be used in situations where the desire is more intense. 希望 can be a verb or noun, but 盼望 is only a noun. 希望 is more commonly used than 盼望. Hope this explanation is helpful, if not, I am sure that others will provide better answers.

二 is used for decimals and fractions.
两 is used (as pointed out in lesson) for 千，and 万, but is also used for 亿
两 is also used in approximations, i.e., 我会去上海玩儿两三天 (i hope my example is OK)。 we wouldnt use 二 in this way.
