Glad you liked it, and thanks for calling attention to that phrase: 把握比较大 ("fairly high certainty"). It's a good one for an Upper Intermediate student to learn.

November 3, 2009 at 1:49 AMRe: Exercise Problems
The new exercises are hosted on their own server, and from there they interact with other parts of ChinesePod. Yesterday that server was temporarily down, which resulted in all exercises being temporarily inaccessible. We apologize for the inconvenience. The exercises are back now, and we're working to make the server more stable so this doesn't happen again.

Yeah, saying 辛苦你了 (xīnkǔ nǐ le) is not quite the same as saying 谢谢你 (xièxie nǐ). The former focuses on the trouble the other person went to, whereas the latter emphasizes your own gratefulness.
It's also interesting to think that the phrase 辛苦你了 (xīnkǔ nǐ le) is less common in southern China. Coming from a Japanese background, I always felt that this phrase is a very Japanese/Korean thing to say, and those two countries are closer to northern China.

Actually, I think it was in response to your request! Thanks for making it.

November 2, 2009 at 5:05 AMTo be honest, depending on traffic, it is sometimes quite 辛苦 (xīnkǔ) to 接 (jiē) someone at the airport in Shanghai! (Of course, you can't tell them that...)

I think 大白兔 (Dà Báitù) is one of the most popular, and it's been around for a while.

October 28, 2009 at 3:20 AMThanks, pretzellogic! It looks like the ChinesePod "related lessons" algorithm could use some work; yours are much better.

November 6, 2009 at 6:28 AMI kinda missed this whole conversation, but ironically enough, it's because I was feeling sick and had to go see the doctor. Back now, though! :)
