kimiik,

语气词 have come up in quite a few lessons, but Connie has located all the Qing Wen episodes specifically about 语气词:

咯,啦  (this one)

啊,呀

azzote,

There's not a single podcast we've done where all possibilities are explored. The key is not to explore everything, but in choosing the right sized chunk (scope) of material and covering it just enough.

Other material is always fair game for a future podcast!

go_manly,

More of a function of hosts rather than a conscious decision.  When Amber was involved, there was more chat.  (Some people prefer this style, while other users are more "business-only.")

go_manly,

The QW PDFs will appear. The reason they have not yet is that the new exercises took priority. Over 1000 lessons' exercises needed to be checked and tweaked. Now that that task is almost complete, you can expect to see more PDFs appearing for old QW shows by next week, at the latest.  (I assure you that our small team is working hard to satisfy our users!)

roderick1234,

Unfortunately, this does mean less Ken (for now).  After all those Newbies and Elementaries, though, I think he's ready for a little break.

chris3,

You've been through all the Newbie and Elementary lessons (close to 600 lessons)?

Every person is different, and it definitely matters how you're studying the lessons. If you just listen to a podcast once and move on, for example, I imagine it would be difficult to progress. Still, if you've been studying hard, you should be able to handle Intermediate after all those lessons.  (We know plenty of users who have successfully done this.)

Please feel free to PM me (click on my photo, and then on "send message") for a more personal response.

dogupatree,

No, that's just the northern Chinese pronunciation of "xing."  The first one sounded more like it does in the south, but the second one sounds more like "xee-ung."

We cover this topic in this episode of the Pinyin Program.

I have to say, being able to evaluate handwriting is something that comes quite late in one's Chinese studies. You need to be exposed to a lot of written Chinese, as well as proper calligraphy, before you start to notice what is "common," and to appreciate the good stuff.

I think Ellen's handwriting is a great example of handwriting which is nice, and slightly cursive without going overboard.  It's just the right amount of challenge for an Intermediate learner (with access to the typed language).
