henning:

Star Trek vs. Casablanca?

Btw: Are there some Chinese tv series which are common knowledge in China, but a mistery to foreigners?

Other countries have/had Sesame Street, Blue Peter (UK), Rappelkiste (Germany) etc.

Maybe we could have a show on such a topic: childhood memory series.

I like it that there is something like "theories of tonogenesis" (theories on the origins of tonality).

Nevertheless, aren't vocal folds a pretty recent evolutionary trait of apes/ homos?

Fun with languages:
In the Netherlands a "Trekker" is this:

In German it sounds similiar, but is written slightly differently.

It would be nice to have interviews with people from academia, politics etc. that live in China to make things happen. Their goals probably aren't so much in the money but equally or even more rewarding.

Will there be a Skritter iPod app, preferably integrated into the Cpod vocab app? (As an aside for Cpod veterans: Maybe, this would have bazza return to the site more often and other #Mandarinmonday tweeple as well ;)

I understand that 姐姐 jiějiě is also a way of addressing a female friend/ companion or is this derogatory?

Maybe Chinesepod could do something like over at Rocketboom http://talent.rocketboom.com/ with an international talent search site and applicants posting videos, resumes and stuff. Probably in Chinese AND (British) English!

Hi all,

maybe this can lighten up the mood:

After season one of the "Menu Stealer" and the first series of "Poems with Pete" there remains the question: What's next?

Just vote!

You might still want to cast your vote here, too - albeit it but outdated:

Is "Poems with Pete" on Chinesepod the right thing after Dear Amber?
