I mean, with all those homophones there are lots of opportunities for word play, tongue in cheek allusions etc. And I have noticed that street names quite often sound poetic or even kitschy in another language, e.g. Rainbow Rd. Is Chinese a poetic language to you? Or romantic (like French), melodious (Italian), pig talk [German ;-)], ...

So, it all depends on your point of view whom to describe as an alien and of abducting etc. Btw: How about a lesson about global warming and the surprisingly quickly disapperaing glaciers in the himalayan mountains?

This thinking in analogies was part of medieval modes of thought in Europe. It is still somehow part of our culture in sayings like "fight fire with fire". Even the latest Mathematical Intelligencer had an article in that direction by comparing "Poetic Metaphor and Mathematical Demonstration". It looks like the human mind very much likes to use analogies and quickly jumps to conclusions based on these.
