what i have found that is most effective for me personally with reviewing is having a scheduled time that is for review and nothing else, no compromise. if i didn't have a scheduled time for review i would just be listening and studying more and more lessons without effectively going over the previous lessons i've studied. i have learned from the past going through lessons while having little effective review that i have to have specific time set aside for nothing but review. that has worked well for me but still assessing what review techniques to use to improve the fastest.

I am still pondering whether i need to use flash cards to review myself.

What i have been doing lately to review is just having a scheduled time where i choose a number of lessons i've studied, put them in repeat on windows media and open all the pdfs up and go through listening and reading over again and again. This method has seemed to be pretty effective review for me so i will continue to try and assess whether i truely need to use the flashcards tool. The valley of decision. hmm...

It is good to hear what other people are doing though to try and learn how to study most effectively and efficiently.

From a chinese persons standpoint for a male to call a female "亲爱" when they are both friends is normal. So you don't have to feel uncomfortable about a chinese guy calling you "亲爱" if you are friends with him.

A guy calling a girl friend "亲爱" alone doesn't mean that the guy wants to be more than friends with the girl. But we know everyone that has called someone "亲爱" wasn't only trying to play the nice friend card, so "亲爱" used in this sense doesn't reveal someone wants to be more than friends nor does it rule out possibilities that the person wants to be more than friends. I hope that helps.

thanks alot guys. yeah the default label on lessons thing was years ago but i had noticed it stopped so i wondered how people dealt with saved vocab now. sounds like the best way is save and compile lists with each lesson so you don't end up with thousands of words not in any list at all.

Good to hear what people are doing to manage their vocab.

thanks for sharing guys.

Can someone answer this unrelated question for me.

Years ago, on Cpod when u saved vocab in one lesson they would automatically be compiled into one list for that specific lesson. The result was all the vocab you saved wouldn't become like a "rubbish tip" like they say in Aus. or a "garbage dump" like they say in the States but instead the saved vocab would be conveniently saved together in individual lists with each lesson.

Did this service vanish like a long ago vapor in the wind or what happened? Is there anyway to rescue this vocab flashcard thing and make good use of it? Or am i missing something that can be done like in the past to automatically have saved vocab compiled into individual lesson groups together?

I got a couple questions.

Do people say "你想吃啥” or "我们想看啥”?and stuff like that.

and can you use this "喝起来才爽嘛”structure in other ways like:

"吃起来才爽嘛” and “还是去那边看看才爽嘛"
