iPhone - refresh button is useless

July 09, 2010 at 03:15 AM posted in General DiscussionNote: I haven't upgraded to the iPhone OS 4. The refresh button in the iPhone app does nothing for me (well, it pops up a message saying it's retrieving lesson content, but it never updates my list of lessons). It has never worked for me. The only way to refresh my list of lessons is to log out of the app and log back in. I sent a tech support e-mail a while back and nothing really came of it. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi xiao_liang. We are fixing this problem in our iPhone app 2.0. Our current app does not have this function built in.

I was afraid of that. It's not updating any lessons. Pressing the refresh button has no effect on the lessons listed on my iPhone. At the moment my lesson list on the website has several dozen more lessons than my lesson list on the iPhone. Currently, the most recent lesson listed in my iPhone is the Intermediate "Dubai" lesson which was published about a month ago. It will not add any lessons that were added to my lesson list since then.

Hi jckeith. I would suggest you change the status of the lessons you want to add to bookmarked. All the bookmarked lessons in your "Manage Lessons" page under "All Active Lessons" should be downloaded into your iPhone.

Hi jckeith, I'm Peter. The customer support specialist here at ChinesePod. I've tested our refresh function on our iPhone app and it seem to be working properly. Can you tell me which lessons it is not updating? Are you still experiencing this problem?

Hmn. That happened to me once, but it seemed to work again afterwards. I did have to re-auth the application once though.

July 14, 2010 at 03:20 PMThe refresh works for me, but I have a seperate issue. If I've had a lesson on my ipod app, and marked it as studied on my dashboard, I have to seperately remove it from the ipod app by marking as studied. There's no correspondence between the two.
