I'm completely new here (as you can see fromm the titlle:-) and I hope this is the group for asking such questions.

Did I correctly translated the sentence "I have just started to learn Chinese"?

My translation is:

我 刚一开始学汉语。

Thanks!

Thank you! Yes, my Chinese friend told me 我刚开始学汉语 was right.

I haven't come across 刚一, so I'm not sure about its usage. But 刚 by itself would suffice. I think the sentence also needs a 了. I think it would come at the end of the sentence, but I'm never sure about the use of 了. However, the sentence is damn good for an absolute beginner - perhaps 刚 is a bit of an exaggeration??
