June 10, 2010 at 06:10 AM posted in General DiscussionSoon, there are going to be a THOUSAND posts about bugs. It is already difficult to keep track of conversations on bugs - there are too many and I am making it worse! The point is, you have to make a new post to be noticed. Actually .. this is the problem with the GROUPS function, in microcosm. We need some discussion on solutions because, by my calculation, if it took three hours for the ChinesePod team to respond to the first kinda obvious point, made by Xiaophil, (okay 2 hours 50 minutes allowing for a BRIEF lunch - how long does it take to eat a 包子?) we could be waiting years for a solution. Keep the ideas rolling in..

Yes, there are lots of posts, aren't there? The way I see it, it could be for two reasons.
A) People love to complain, and now that there is a forum and some momentum, people are following their nature.
B) People for the most part have been patient, but really cannot see why some problems are not being addressed quickly or are apparently being ignored, and now its all coming out like a bursting dam.
I think the answer is both A and B. I don't doubt that the CPod staff is working hard at various what nots, but there has been some disconnect for whatever reason on the technical issues. I hope these sort of things start getting ironed out soon. Constant complaining, valid or not, is a real drag on the atmosphere. If I was a trial user who logged in today, I might turn around and log back out.
But yeah, I do feel response is shoddy at times. They are hiring, so perhaps that will take care of it? My fingers are crossed.

June 10, 2010 at 07:04 AMI don't love to complain. In fact I don't like to.
No need to worry about the trial users logging back out because of the posts here! This is a secret place they'll never find. If I were a trial user I would have other reasons to find the site hard to use and perhaps ultimately not worth my time.
I was nostalgic yesterday, recalling the first ever post I made on the boards at the end of 2008. I can't get over how organized you guys are! I was gushing then. And I meant it.
