Can anyone else verify this, or did I just misunderstand completely?

by the way, most 溫州人 have strong accent when they speak mandarine .

when they asked you“怎麼走" , they just wanted to know how to get there. maybe you should give me more details.
I guess they were asking you that how to get to a certain place.
