Not sure. I downloaded it at work, and have had a chance to play with it yet. I'll try either later tonight or tomorrow afternoon.
While I was at work, I viewed the data file directly without usiing the app, and I posted my recommendation here based on that viewing.

Doh! I think I got it...
if anyone else has this problem here's the solution:
Changing the language Mnemosyne uses
By default, the language corresponding to your system's locale is chosen. If you want to override this behaviour, edit the
.mnemosyne/config.py file and replace the line
locale = None to
locale = 'en' or
locale = 'es' or whatever. You can find the corresponding language codes here.
